Shine Fights’ Lightweight Grand Prix tournament will take place all on one night and will use the single-elimination format for it’s eight fighters. Two reserve bouts in case of injury will also be featured. The first two elimination rounds will consist of two-5 minute bouts with a 3 minute overtime round optioned. Round of 3 will consist of three-5 minute rounds.
In an unprecedented move, Shine Fights has stated that the matchups will be decided by the fans via e-mail. Shine Fights COO Jason Chambers declared “We are saying, ‘You are buying the PPV, you are buying the tickets, so you tell us what you want to watch.’ We feel it’s one of the most unique opportunities fight fans have been given to date.”
