Kirkpinar: Turkish Wrestling Tournament
When I first started watching this ESPN video I thought “Men Oil Wrestling, that is gay,” but then when I saw what these guys go through I changed my tune. Kirkpinar is a three-day olive oil wrestling tournament in Turkey that has gone on for 800 years. Men from all over Turkey come there to be crowned the best wrestler. There are no mouth guards, no limits on head strikes, no cups and and only water. Some of these matches go 90 minutes long! Recap Kara defended his belt and won the tournament for 2008.
