MMA at the Playboy Mansion?
Strikeforce has officially announced that they will promote a second event called “Strikeforce At the Mansion II” at Hugh Hefner’s Playboy Mansion on Saturday, September 20th. Joe Riggs, Renato “Babalu” Sobral, Josh Thomson, and Kazuo Misaki have been rumored to fight on the card.
UFC FN15 fight added: Drew McFedries vs. Mike Massenzio!
MFS fighter, UFC veteran, and hard hitting Drew McFedries will be taking on RC/Reality Fighting fighter Mike Massenzio at UFC Fight Night 15 at the Omaha Civic Auditorium in Omaha, Nebraska. Alas, this fight will in all likelihood be not be televised unless they can pull out some fireworks in a highlight reel finish and there is air time. The co-main event bouts are Nate Diaz vs. Josh Neer and Mac Danzig vs. Clay Guida. Don’t know about you, but I’m terribly stoked at the Danzig.Guida fight.

FSN to televise EliteXC classic bouts!
FSN and EliteXC, inc. have announced that they have agreed on a deal to televise classic bouts from previous EliteXC events, as well as the other promotions that have been snatched up by EliteXC inc, such as Cage Rage, ICON Sport, King of the Cage, & SpiritMC. They will be hosted by Jay Glazer and Frank Trigg and air at 9pm on Sundays. The deal includes 4 episodes which pending ratings, will be extended.
Kampmann vs. Marquardt at UFC 88?
Strong rumors persist that this bout will happen at UFC 88 at Atlanta’s Phillips Arena in September. Both fighters have agreed to the bout, and it’s just a matter of being officially announced. I like both fighters and can’t honestly pick one.
Shogun eye-ing December return!
Mauricio “Shogun” Rua is recovering from his knee reconstruction surgery and looking to be back in the UFC in December. He began training lightly 2 weeks ago and is doing Muay Thai/Boxing training. He will be flying to Toronto to check out his status as well as get some Boxing training with Andre Dida. He confirmed that he was aware of the rumor that Mark Coleman may be his opponent. Though he wouldn’t confirm, he went on to discuss him in depth and how much respect he has for Coleman and that he would want them to put on a great fight. A slip? ;P
