Short and sweet without the fluff!!

Randy Couture Announcement at Noon Today!!!
EXACTLY what it says! Stay tuned….in the mean time enjoy these Fedor and Randy pics:

WEC to drop 205# & 185#s!
WEC will be dropping the light Heavyweight (205#s) and Middleweight (185#s) divisions and those divisions and their fighters will be merged into the UFC. It seems BLAF wants the WEC to purely be a showcase for the lighter weight classes. That leaves a few questions: with less fighters how will the WEC maintain it’s schedule and fill it’s cards with LESS fighters? Will it be scouting for more fighters to pick up the slack? Also, what will happen with the fighters in those divisions moved over to the UFC? Will they ALL have UFC contracts or just the big names like Steve Cantwell, Brian Stann, Paulo Filho, Chael Sonnen, etc.? Things that make you go “Hmmmm?”

UFC 90 news: Tibau injured; Aurelio to be replacement!

His replacement will be PRIDE veteran Marcus Aurelio who despite losing 4 of his last 6 fights is still someone you better watch out for.

Jason Lambert drops down to 185#s!
Jason Lambert will debut at 18#s to take on Jason MacDonald at UFC 88 on Sept. 6 in Atlanta in which has all the makings are a darn exciting fight. Has either guy been in a boring fight, even in their losses?!? Lambert is a BIG man and dropping to 185 should make him one of the bigger, stronger athletes there. Lambert has said that his power has come down with him and is still evident in training. This is the same power that sat Babalu down on his ass.

Amir Sadollah added to UFC 91 card!
TUF fighter Amir Sadollah has been added to UFC 91′s card on Nov. 15 at the Rose Garden Arena in Portland, Ore. in a fight against TBA who has been fighting quite often since Boxing and MMA has been around. He is the the most busy fighter on Earth.

WAR TBA!!!

Tim Sylvia to be killed at Affliction 3?
MMAnews.com has reported that Tim Sylvia may fight Jerome LeBanner at Affliction 3 in January of February of 2009. The article also mentions that Atencio is trying to get Sergei Kharitonov on board.

Ozzy Osbourne to play at Affliction 2!
Keeping with their theme of having a live musical guest as they did at Affliction: Banned with Megadeth, it seems Ozzy will be playing!! LOL….

[1]. TUF 7 Season Finale Undercard Finalized: Saturday, June 21 at 9:00 pm at The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, NV on Spike TV “The Ultimate Fighter 7” Finale fight card has been finalized as follows:

Evan Tanner (34-8) vs. Kendall Grove (10-5)
Spencer “The King” Fisher (21-3) vs. Jeremy “Lil’ Heathen” Stephens (15-2)
Jeremy Horn (88-17-5) vs. Dean “The Boogeyman” Lister (10-5)
Josh Burkman (20-5) vs. Dustin Hazelett (12-5)
Marvin “The Beastman” Eastman (15-7-1) vs. Drew McFedries (6-3)
Diego Sanchez (21-2) vs. Luigi Fioravanti (14-3)
Matt Arroyo vs. TBA
Finalist #1 vs. Finalist #2

They should call this event ‘The Comeback Kids’. You have Evan, Spencer, Horn, Burkman, Hazelett, Grove and McFedries all coming off of losses. Jeremy Horn is one of my favorite fighters and I’m hoping he gets back on track, but Dean Lister is a beast. Look for this to be FOTN.

UFC has announced that not only will this event be 3 hours, but for the first time will also be on Hi-Def!

[2]. Travis Wiuff vs. ‘Iron Head’ Fujita has been added to the Sengoku III’s June 8th card. As some of you may remember, or chosen to forget, Travis won the Yamma Pitfighting’s tournament back in April, beating Ricco Rodriguez, Marcelo Pereira, and Chris Tuchscherer to win. Wiuff is one of the sport’s busiest fighters at 53-11.

‘Iron Head’, who has wins over Mark Kerr, Gilbert Yvel, Bob Sapp, and James Thompson, is most famous for stunning Fedor and making him fish dance, before getting finished off. He has also fought and lost to Cro Cop 2x, Mark Coleman, and Wanderlei. 13 of his 15 wins have been finishes, so he can be dangerous.

I see Wuiff pulling this one off and winning possible a boring decision.

[3]. Gilbert Melendez will defend his Strikeforce belt against Josh Thomson on their June 27th card at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif. After some doubt of it happening, it is finally official. Man, this is a GREAT match and for know, I don’t have a pick. This fight has all the makings of a FOTY.

[4]. EliteXC lightweight champion K.J. Noons (6-2) will take on UFC and PRIDE veteran Yves Edwards (34-13-1) in Honolulu, Hawaii on June 14th, on Showtime at 10 p.m. ET. MMAjunkie.com reports that Noons, though champ, is considered the under dog. This is a betting fight folks!

[5]. Cheick Kongo (11-4-1) will take on Dan Evensen (10-2) in August at UFC 87. Cheick is coming off of a split-decision loss to Heath Herring at UFC 82.

[6]. EliteXC has confirmed their broadcast team: Frank Shamrock, Gus Johnson, and Mauro Ranallo.
